A LOOK BACK : MILE END EN FÊTE

2nd edition ; 25th & 26th May

On May 25 and 26, Mile End vibrated to the rhythm of its second Mile End en Fête, organized by SDC Laurier O and the Mile End Business Association (AGAME). The festival transformed the neighborhood into an open-air party, bringing life to Saint-Laurent, Parc, Bernard, St-Viateur, Fairmount and Laurier West streets.

Headquarters

Two hotspots served as centers of activity for the festivities:

  • Desjardins HQ, set up in the iconic Laurier Avenue car wash, offered entertainment and information about the event.
  • PA HQ, in the Ubisoft parking lot at the corner of Saint-Dominique and Saint-Viateur, was a focal point for visitors.

Laurier Ouest: At the heart of the entertainment

Laurier West street, between Saint-Laurent and Clark, was closed for the official opening of the Caserne 30 firefighters’ museum. Visitors admired vintage fire trucks and tried out a fire simulator. They also enjoyed a BBQ and discovered promotional merchandise featuring the fire station.

Art, Culture and Festivities

The festival featured mural art by artist Ankh One. He created the work “Les portes du temps” on the walls of Lio Fratelli and Optical Center, on the corner of Laurier Ouest and Saint-Urbain.

In addition, the varied program attracted young and old with musical performances. Live painting sessions for kids at PA HQ. Beer tastings by the Dieu du Ciel brewery. Costume workshops by Extravaganz’arts rounded out the event.

Discovery Passport

Festival-goers could pick up a Discovery Passport at both event HQs. This ensured that they didn’t miss out on any of the activities and promotions offered by participating businesses.

The passport also enabled them to follow the official program and take advantage of the various offers in the neighborhood.
